Hot Dip Galvanizing (HDG) is basically raw steel put into a large kettle with 850 degree Fahrenheit molten zinc. The iron in the steel metallurgically reacts with the molten zinc to form a tightly-bonded alloy coating that provides superior corrosion protection to steel. HDG provides complete coverage and coating integrity because galvanizing is a total emersion process where all parts of fabricated steel are coated and protected evenly, including internally inside enclosed spaces, where powder coating paint cannot reach.
